I started cheerleading when I was 5 years old. I always loved it, and quickly realized that I wanted to be on the best team possible. When I was about 11 or 12, it was my dream to be on a team called Orange at The Stingray Allstars. I finally made the team in 2013 and we ended up winning worlds. I tore my ACL in 2014, and it was absolutely heartbreaking after I made the team of my dreams. I worked extremely hard to get back to the point I was at before I had gotten my injury, and went on to compete in 3 more World Championships and make the University of Georgia Cheerleading team in 2017. I have been cheering at UGA for the past 4 years and I can’t imagine spending my college years any other way. Cheerleading has always been very special to me, and I am so grateful for my time on Orange and at The University of Georgia.

“Press Sports has helped me rekindle my love for cheerleading. A lot of times, when you go from competitive cheerleading to college cheerleading, it feels like a whole different world. Sometimes, it feels like the passion is gone from what you used to do in competitive cheerleading to now cheering only for other sports. Press Sports helped me gain that passion back by being able to reminisce on all my highlights and see other girls in the same position that I was in 4 years ago. My journey has been incredible, and I am so thankful Press Sports has helped make it an everlasting memory.” – Maia Perri
