Alina Perez Discusses Her Short And Long Term Volleyball Goals And How Press Sports Helps Her Connect With Other Student Athletes

I started playing volleyball in seventh grade at my middle school. As an eighth grader, I was able to help the team achieve their first volleyball championship in school history. I also played basketball, softball, soccer and football for my middle school. During that time, I also played club volleyball as well. I am currently a freshman at St Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale and play on the JV volleyball team. I am also currently on the 15 black team at Boomers Volleyball Academy in Pompano Beach. When I’m not playing, I do my strength and conditioning training at Legacy Fit Pines in Pembroke Pines, a few days a week. My short term athletic goals are to play on the varsity team at my high school, win tournaments with my club team, and to play for the USA Volleyball High Performance Team. My long term athletic goals are to play college volleyball and to play volleyball for Team USA.

“Press Sports has helped me connect with other athletes across the country. I have made new friends, whom I have never met in person, but we keep in contact through social media and we share the same passion for our sport. Through Press Sports we’re able to support each other and encourage each other even though we live in different parts of the country. I’ve also met players who play other sports then I do but we have the same goals and love of sports. We cheer each other on and encourage each other to be the best that we can be. There is a sense of community among the athletes and staff on Press Sports, I’m happy to be a part of it.” – Alina Perez
